RecyclingNet

Terms of Service

Last updated July 2026. By creating a RecyclingNet account, you agree to the terms below.

Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use RecyclingNet. This is a marketplace that connects strangers for in-person pickups, so we don't allow minors to create accounts.

What RecyclingNet is (and isn't)

RecyclingNet connects people who have recyclables ("requesters") with people who pick them up in exchange for the deposit refund ("collectors"). We facilitate the match, estimate item counts with an AI model, and track refunds and donations — we are not a party to the pickup itself, and collectors are not our employees. Item counts and refund estimates are generated by an AI model and may be corrected by an admin; we don't guarantee perfect accuracy, and the confirmed count at pickup is what's final.

Refunds and donations

Deposit refund rates are set per region and locked in at the time you submit a request. Collectors keep the refund they redeem for items they pick up; if you opt into donating, 30% of that value is pledged to the charity you choose once the pickup is confirmed collected. RecyclingNet is not itself a registered charity, and donation pledges are not tax receipts.

Limitation of liability

RecyclingNet is provided "as is," during an active pilot. We don't guarantee that a pickup will be accepted, that AI-detected counts will be exact, or that a collector will arrive at a specific time. To the extent permitted by law, RecyclingNet isn't liable for disputes, losses, or damages arising from interactions between requesters and collectors — we provide the dispute process in good faith to help resolve them, but we don't adjudicate every disagreement.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform grows — for example, as we expand beyond Windsor, Ontario. We'll post the updated date here when we do. Continued use of RecyclingNet after a change means you accept the updated terms.
